July 16, 2020: Fredericksburg Furnishings

The pod arrived with our furnishings and other belongings from Fredericksburg:

It turns out our upstairs neighbors also have a camper van. What are the odds of that?

For those wondering, our camper van is a 2021 Winnebago Travato 59k. It has a bathroom, galley, and two twin beds.

You need to supply your own dogs:

July 7, 2020: Luna Mystica

Our hope was to camp at Rio Grande del Norte National Monument in Northern New Mexico, but camping was closed due to the Coronavirus. Carson National Forest campgrounds were also closed so we ended up camping at Luna Mystica in Taos - a hotel comprised of old travel trailers that have been renovated into modern accommodations.  It was mystical and weird and right next to a microbrewery that burned down the week before we were there.

June 30 to July 3, 2020: Getting the camper van

The next day we spent hours at Lewis RV in Dayton, getting an orientation to our new Travato 2021. After which,  Cheryl drove our F150 and I the van as we convoyed to Lincoln Trail State Park in Marshall, Illinois.

The next day we traveled to Keltoi Winery in Joplin, Missouri. We can stay over night for free at hundreds of wineries through our membership with the Harvest Host organization.

Based on a recommendation of Ron's brother-in-law, Eric, we stopped at Cahokia Mounds

A quick detour to Dodge City, then on to Arkalon County Park in Liberal, Kansas.

Being Kansas, it is wise to have tornado shelters.

On July 3rd we arrived in Santa Fe to stay at an AirBnB.
